The Dadra & Nagar Haveli (DNH) Branch of the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship organized the Thinking Day celebrations at the Community Health Center, Khanvel, DNH under the direction of the Chief Patron Shri A. K. Singh, IAS, Collector of of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa.

Thinking Day Celebrations at DNH SGF
The program anchored by Miss Gulzar D. Roy started with a 2 minute silent prayer for the victims of the November Mumbai Blasts. As is the Fellowship tradition, this function too began with the Scout/Guide prayer. The Secretary Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar welcomed all and the Chief Guest of this event was Dr. L. N. Patra, Chief Medical Officer, DNH, Patron of the DNF SGF.
For their active participation and exemplary support to the DNH SGF, three people were awarded the Fellowship Samman for the year 2008-09. They were: 1) Shri Sreekumar M. N., Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Silvassa, 2) Shri N. C. Deogade, Principal, Javahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sili & 3) Fr. Edmund M., Principal, Gyan Mata High School, Khanvel.
Other attendees to the event included Dr. A. K. Mahala, President, Dr. Deepak R. Patel, & Dr. Lata Sabale, Vice Presidents, Mr. R. D. Gupta, Joint Secretary, Smt. R. D. Parmar, and Shri J. P. Singh, Senior Members of DNH SGF, Mr. AZIZ with his group of Aga Khan Scouts & Guides, Mr. Vijay, Scout Master of KVS, Mrs. Mamta Upadhyay, Guide teacher of JNV along with 50 Scouts & Guides.
Shri Sreekumar M. N. gave in-depth information about the Scout & Guide Movement and its history. Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell and Lady Olave St Clair Baden-Powell were saluted by the august gathering and all reaffirmed the Fellowship principle that “Once a Scout as always a Scout”.
Addressing the gathering Fr. Edmund M. called for people to help in making good citizens and to help others. “God is always be in our heart so keep smiling and to always listen to and follow your heart”, he added.
Shri N. C. Deogade said, “Work is worship. If you are a hard worker, nothing is impossible.” He urged everyone to follow the Scouts motto of “Be Prepared”.
Dr. A. K. Mahala gave information about the Indian Scout and Guide Fellowship. He gave a report of the last three years achievements of the DNH SGF like Pulse Polio camp on four-lane road bus stand, celebration of AIDS Day, Anti Leprosy Day, World T. B. Day, World Womens Day, Training Camp of Leprosy and HIV/AIDS and Special report of 17,500 tree plantation in DNH SGF.
He encouraged the members of the DNH SGF to take the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship to a great height, so that each and every school will be proud to have a branch of the Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship. He thanked the Principal of DNH unit JNV., KVS., and Aga Khan Scouts & Guides for joining the Thinking Day Celebrations.
The event saw a total of 77 members of the Bharat Scouts & Guides - JNV, KVS, Aga Khan Scouts and Guides and Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship participating.
